Trendy 70s style with modern safety features
Retro-style shoes? They're almost as ubiquitous these days as craft beer editions with hand-selected hops. And yet, amidst all the style revivals, every now and then a shoe series emerges that captures the spirit of the 70s without veering into kitsch. The OTTO lightblue Low S1PS from the ELTEN RETRO range belongs precisely to this category.
The mix of cowhide and suede looks like a find from the bell-bottom era, were it not for the clear robustness of a modern work shoe. Inside, a breathable textile lining keeps the temperature at a comfortable level. The steel toe cap provides reliable toe protection, while the metal-free penetration-resistant midsole demonstrates how far safety technology has advanced without adding unnecessary weight. The RETRO rubber outsole has that subtle old-school groove, but works in conjunction with EVA and SCF cushioning elements to ensure contemporary shock absorption and a relaxed walking experience. In addition, there is the SPORTIVE ESD black insole with recycled content.
The shoe meets the FO (fuel resistance) and SR (slip resistance above standard) specifications, is of course ESD-compliant, and is available in sizes 36 to 47. The leather used in its manufacture comes from tanneries audited according to the LWG (Leather Working Group) standard for leather production.
