ELTEN Receives Plus X Award For Sustainability

THE PLUS X AWARD FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Our sustainability efforts are reviewed and certified by independent auditing bodies. For instance, we have once more undergone an assessment by the rating agency EcoVadis and in 2023 again received a gold medal.

We mainly do this to remain transparent and identify our weaknesses and what we can improve, rather than to pat ourselves on the back.

This year, we were also honoured with the Plus X Award for sustainability. But how was this rating determined? Let’s take a closer look at that.

ABOUT THE AWARD

There are various awards presented at the Plus X Award, from Best Product of the Year and Most Innovative Brand of the Year to Germany’s Best Retailer.

The “Sustainability” special award is given across five different categories: corporate values, future security, strategy, circular economy, and transparency. These categories are precisely defined. Each participant can be recognized in one or more of these five categories.

WHAT IS EVALUATED?

Companies can submit their contributions for the “Sustainability” special award if they exemplify sustainable business practices in line with the German Sustainability Strategy and the 2030 Agenda.

These contributions vary widely. They could involve developing new solutions for sustainable production, reducing consumption, conserving material and energy resources, or focusing on waste reduction and recycling.

Companies submit application materials, which may include sustainability concepts, reports, certifications, or evidence of sustainable product manufacturing.

HOW IS IT IS EVALUATED?

Evaluation is based on criteria developed by LUWE GmbH, which considers the latest research and sustainability discussions. LUWE GmbH, a strategic partner of the Plus X Awards, has been advocating for corporate sustainability for years.

LUWE GmbH consults not only with companies but also with organizations and institutions that aim to integrate the well-being of people and the environment into their economic activities. They follow the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN).
